The meniscal tear is present in the menisci or cartilage which is located between the tibia and femur bones found in the lower leg. The role of cartilage is to provide stability to body by balancing out weight of body evenly on the legs. A meniscus tear is an injury to the cartilage which protects the knee joint. After seeing through camera, surgeon can evaluate whether it can be repaired or not. In case of radial tears, it can be repaired base upon where tear is located; however, in case of degenerative tears most of the time, it cannot be repaired.
Most of time meniscus tear happen due to the sudden movement during injury or playing sports. Sports people are more prone for meniscus tear related injury.
