Lack of physical activity, poor dietary habits and unhealthy lifestyle have been identified as the major causes for an increased risk of weak bones, osteoporosis and arthritis.
Senior orthopaedic surgeon, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dr L Tomar said, “Unfortunately in our country, joint and back pains are considered part of normal ageing process. Therefore, instead of dealing with such problems seriously people prefer to go for quick fixes like analgesics or some pain relieving balms. Such temporary solutions not just further worsen the bone and joint conditions, but also damage liver and kidney.”
